About Tokyo Alleyways

Tokyo Alleyways began as a love letter to the warm community of Hatagaya and has become a wider celebration of local culture and history in Tokyo. Through this blog, I share all about Tokyo’s local businesses, people, and history, starting right here in my home community. While it’s easy to get lost in the stunning neon and hustle of the largest city in the world, bridging the city’s history with its contemporary culture more closely reveals that its beauty is a composite of incredible people and stories that define the human experience. Through explorations of history, locations, businesses, restaurants, and more, I hope to share little windows into the immense depth of this incredible city and the broad range of human experience which can be found here.
